- Epoxy plywood make for excellent dimensional stability
- Foam filling renders boat unsinkable, and imparts excellent  mechanical strength to the structure ,
- absolutely watertight and extremely difficult to puncture by debris or rocks. Most modern aircraft have foam filling to  -- wings and other parts.
- Much lower overall hull weight, much greater fuel economy and reduced sound levels and vibration.
- materials degrade very little over time many boats has been  going for more than 40 years
- well insulated, only problem is condensation (in the Tropics)
- more straightforward to fit out inside, as fittings can be fastened anywhere
- reparable and easy to maintain
- very cosy quiet and warm, below decks
